Formalin Fixation and Paraffin Embedding (FFPE) of tissues is rapidly being adopted for routine molecular diagnostics. The extreme formaldehyde fixation and tissue dehydration of FFPE preserved tissue presents not only a technical challenge to reproducible DNA and RNA extraction, but also a workflow challenge in a routine setting.
