Translational Discoveries Powered by AFA-energeticsTM
Epigenomics is the study of DNA methylation, histone modifications, the regulatory function of transcription factors, long-range chromatin interactions, and the regulatory action of noncoding RNAs. These modifications can influence whether certain genes are silenced or activated, thereby regulating cellular processes in normal and diseased states.
Covaris provides investigators with the highest quality next-generation sequencing (NGS) and microarray sample preparation solutions to standardize workflows for cell and tissue-based assays. In addition, the Adaptive Focused Acoustics® (AFA®) technology is the only high-throughput (>96 samples) chromatin sample preparation platform available for a wide range of chromatin-based applications.
AFA is widely used by scientists for Methyl-Seq, Protein-DNA interaction studies including complexes, and chromatin architecture studies. The technology is the method of choice in NuGEN’s Ovation® platform and Agilent’s SureSelectXT Methyl-Seq protocols for profiling 5-methylcytosine (5mC) and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC). It is also cited as the preferred sample prep method for meDIP-Seq, ChIP-Seq, HI-C, HI-ChIP, ChIRP-Seq, and other applications.
